Inoue was born in Tokyo. In the late 1970s, he played in the fusion group PARACHUTE. In 1982, he released his debut album, PROPHETIC DREAM (予言者の夢). Since then, he has released 13 original albums. He has also composed, arranged, and performed music for several films and OVAs, including SF Shinseiki Lensman, Lily C.A.T., and the Japan/West Germany 1984 film Windy Story.
