"Get Born Again" is one of the last two songs recorded with vocalist Layne Staley before his death in 2002, the other song being "Died". The song was included on the compilation albums Nothing Safe: Best of the Box (1999), Music Bank (1999), and The Essential Alice in Chains (2006). The music was written by guitarist Jerry Cantrell for what would eventually become his second solo album, Degradation Trip however he showed the song to vocalist Layne Staley, and Staley wrote the lyrics, and recorded it with Alice in Chains in 1998.
