“Girl of the Year” was the fifth single released from Allie X’s sophomore EP, Super Sunset. The track was first debuted at the Rough Trade NYC Bar on July 29th, 2018 and an excerpt of the instrumental was first used in the Super Sunset teaser on Allie’s YouTube channel. Allie revealed on an Instagram Live that originally the track was much slower, somewhere around 70 BPM, but it was sped up to where the track is now, causing the key and pitch of the vocals to change drastically.
