Well this is a reissue of a Welsh underground guitar blues psych rock band that was a forerunner for the Racing Cars and circulated back in 1970. Mostly mellow, by todays standards, but also featuring half a dozen snarling guitar tunes, this album is characterized by it’s guitar tone and thumping bass. Fans of Late 60/Early 70s prog/phych rock will invariably enjoy this album. John Weathers, would later become drummer of Gentle Giant and Gary Pickford Hopkins would be involved in lots of other projects including Cutting Crew, Drivers, etc.

When Welsh-based covers band Strawberry Dust got some gigs supporting Eyes of Blue, they impressed drummer John Weathers and he approached their then record company boss, Lou Reizner, about signing them. This he did but he changed their name to Ancient Grease. When they entered the studio to record Women and Children First, Weathers and other Eyes Of Blue members also helped out. After the album was released in July 1970 the band reverted to its original monicker, Strawberry Dust, and spent a short while in Hamburg.
