bearstatic is Joseph Salvatore Aversano, an Ankara-based producer of lo-fi and quieter glitch music. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he eventually made his way across an ocean and several seas to where he studied classical Turkish Sufi music on the ney (a Middle Eastern reed flute). The laptop, however, soon became Joseph’s instrument of choice, following an influential trip to Berlin.
