He is a founding member, vocalist, guitarist, and main song writer in The String Cheese Incident(SCI), a US jamband from Boulder, Colorado. The String Cheese Incident took a breather in the summer of 2007 after it was announced that Nershi would leave The String Cheese Incident to pursue other musical projects.
