“Breaking Up” is a new wave-influenced track which is one long list of reasons why her ex sucks. It’s the third single from "Sucker". It was originally debuted live in a Texas concert, alongside London Queen. She also performed it on her first headlining tour. According to Songfacts, in an interview with NME, XCX discusses the semi-regret she has while singing it: "That song is really brutal – every time I sing it I feel bad for everyone of my ex-boyfriends. I feel like I’m making all the guys I ever dated cry."
