The name references the 1962 Akira Kurosawa-directed film Sanjuro, continuing the theme throughout the album of Denzel paying his respects to the influential Japanese director. The slap sound effect heard at the beginning of the track might also be a sample from Sanjuro, where the protagonist, Tsubaki Sanjûrô, slaps four of the people he came across during the iconic “master of the slap” scene.
