Destruction is a German thrash metal band. They are regarded as one of the "Big Four" of the German thrash metal scene, along with Kreator, Sodom, and Tankard. Three of these bands—Tankard being the exception—are often credited with influencing the early development of black metal by incorporating elements that later became characteristic of the genre.
