Not much is known about the British group Dog Soul. We know that they were briefly active in the 1960s, were popular in soul, R&B and Mod circles and never officially released a record at the time: their most 'famous' (perhaps only?) recording, a rendition of the song 'Big Bird', has popped up on R&B and Mod compilations in later decades. We also know some of Dog Soul's personnel: Derek Griffiths, Jim Toomey, John Beecham, Mel Simpson, Mike Cotton and Nick Newall are listed as band members on Discogs.
