“Earl” is the self-titled track off of Earl’s debut mixtape. It is the continuation of “Thisniggaugly,” when Earl finally decides to showcase his talents to the Odd Future crew. The song features themes of violence, murder and rape, all of which are in a sub-genre of rap called “horror core,” something Odd Future is all too familiar with. Earl is arguably the most poetic member of Odd Future – perhaps due to the fact that his father was a South African poet. Before Earl left to go to boarding school in Samoa due to the themes of this album.
