Biography
Born of the songwriting collaboration of Reid Comstock and Gabriel RiCharde in the songs Absalom and A Branch I Broke (a Song for Katie). The band is characterized by fast melodies and vocal harmonies by Reid, Gabriel and Katie Kok.
Though the songs are largely driven by the vocal melody and folky guitar rhythms, the songs are not without a variety of instrumentation. Blade Barringer plays a sparse piano, focusing on effect and mood than apparent presence. As the group moves into a more rock-based sound, Paul White brings his talent on the bass to ground the material in a steady rhythm.
On occasion, the band is accompanied by a String Quartet, a couple of Horn players, the furious beats of Brian Parker on the drums or whatever happens to be on hand at the time.
Father Padraig was recently accepted into the 2008-2009 edition of Kodon.
