Feyzullah Çınar was born on November 15, 1937 in Gürpınar (Çamağa) Village of Sincan (Çamşıhı) sub-district of Divriği district of Sivas. He started singing folk songs in 1950. He released his first record in 1966. He was imprisoned for his Alevi sayings and socialist folk song lyrics. He went to France in 1969 and attended conferences and gave concerts with Irène Mélikoff on Alevi-Bektashi culture and music.
