"Nifelvind" was recorded at Sonic Pump Studios (Apocalyptica, Amorphis, Ensiferum, etc.) in Helsinki, Finland and mastered by Mika Jussila (Children Of Bodom, Sonata Arctica, Him, etc.) at Finnvox Studios. The album cover artwork was done again by the band's own guitarist Skrymer. Finntroll is a Finnish folk metal band from Helsinki. The band combines elements of black metal and death metal with a Finnish style of folk music known as humppa. Its lyrics are predominantly in Swedish, with the only exception being the song "Madon Laulu" from "Visor om slutet".
