Floyd LeBlanc (1912-1978) was a U.S. violinist in the
Cajun tradition. LeBlanc was born in Mermentau, Louisiana, USA on the 17th September 1912. He was born into a musical family, his father playing French accordion and violin and his mother playing guitar and singing. In 1948 he met the Cajun accordionist
Iry LeJeune, and together they travelled to Houston, Texas where they recorded "Love Bridge Waltz" and "Evangeline Special" on the Opera label with Virgil Bozeman's Oklahoma Tornadoes supporting. The success of the record wasa turning point for Cajun music…
