The album was written and performed by David Grubbs, Jim O'Rourke and Markus Popp, with an array of other musicians including John McEntire (percussion), Rob Mazurek (cornet) and Darin Gray (bass). The album was released after O'Rourke left the band, and was partly recorded at John McEntire's Soma Electronic Music Studios.
