Hailing from London, the brains behind electronic band Hot Chip are Alexis Taylor and Joe Goddard. The combination of Taylor's ethereal high pitch vocals and Goddard's warm low pitch and the band's blip-blop electronics creates a dreamy sound.
Some of their influences include Phil Spector, the Beach Boys, Kraftwerk, Robert Wyatt, Timbaland, Madlib, Brian Eno, Devo, Anti-Pop Consortium, Aphex Twin, Will Oldham and Royal Trux.
Hot Chip are Alexis Taylor, Joe Goddard, Al Doyle, Owen Clarke and Felix Martin. Doyle has been offering support (guitar) to LCD Soundsystem on their latest tour, and Taylor has recently been seen gigging with Green Gartside of Scritti Politti. Rumours are now rife that the two are working together on a collaborative album.
