Ink Theory is a fictional all-female six-piece jazz band from Nintendo’s video game series Splatoon. The group consists of Inkling trumpet player and frontwoman Yōko (ヨーコ), nautilus pianist Karen (カレン), Inkling kazoo player Bibi (ビビ), sea urchin bassist Aachin (あーちん), sea anemone percussionist Mayaya (マヤヤ), and sea urchin drummer Kitamura (きたむら). In-universe, Ink Theory are inspired by the band Hightide Era. In real life, the group’s music is supplied by Atsuki Yumoto (湯本篤希) (trumpet), Ai Kuwabara (桑原 あい) (piano), and MIZUKI (植田瑞季) (drums).
