Isabelle Fortier graduated from the Conservatoire de Musique de Québec in 1996. After graduating she moved to Toronto where she studied intensively for two years with Judy Loman. A grant from Le Conseil des Arts et Lettres du Québec enabled her to join the Chicago Civic Orchestra and work under such world-renowned conductors as Pierre Boulez, Mstislav Rostropovich, and Daniel Barenboim.
