Johann Gottfried Wilhelm Palschau (* December 21, 1741 probably in Copenhagen; † July 5th / July 17th, 1815 in Saint Petersburg) was a German pianist and composer. Palschau was the son of a musician from Holstein, who was a member of the Copenhagen Royal Orchestra. Early on he undertook extensive concert tours and performed in London in 1754 and in Hamburg in 1761 . Around 1771 he took lessons from Johann Gottfried Müthel in Riga. In 1777 he settled in Saint Petersburg.
