Kenneth Clark Loggins, born January 7, 1948, in Everett, Washington, is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist. Early in his career, his songwriting contributions were recorded by the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band in 1970. From 1972 to 1977, he performed as part of the duo Loggins and Messina, releasing seven albums. As a solo artist, Loggins gained recognition for his work on various film soundtracks, including an Academy Award nomination for the song "Footloose" in 1984.
