Detailing how the Lil Wayne and Childish Gambino features came about on 'Sunshine,' Latto said that her team sent the two rappers a demo of the song with open spaces for where each of their verses could go. Latto said that she sent out the request "pretty much just shooting for the stars," with no expectation either of the artists would reply, but fortunately they both wanted to be on the track. Latto thanked them for their contributions, saying that to be "stamped by them" at this stage in her career "meant a lot."
