Lavaud, pronounced “La-Vo”, is a singer-songwriter born and raised in Hackney, London with family origins from the island of Mauritius, a proud nation in the Indian Ocean off the southeast coast of the African continent. “I grew up surrounded by all kinds of music. My father is my greatest influence and inspiration. He is an amazing person, musician and teacher. I was exposed to so much music with him, he taught me how to play the guitar and I grew up in a household listening to everything from Sega, a traditional Mauritian sound, R&B, Pop, Reggae and Gospel.”
