MAM was an experimental, post punk, new wave pop group from Tilburg, The Netherlands, formed in 1981 around songwriter and bassist, Tom America. The group was initially called Sammie America's Gasphetti. The name was slightly changed to Sammie America's Mam, which was then abbreviated to MAM, after which their recording career began in earnest with the self-titled album MAM in 1983.
