Manzanita, emerged as a guitarist in at the end of the 1960s, when the country's craze was at its peak. in 1967 he founded Los Pachas before he went to lead his own group Manzanita Y Su Conjunto. His new group started out on Alberto Maravi's DInsa label. such as his 1970 debut album "Arre Caballito". While still under contract at Dinsa he recorded a number of EPs for Infopesa under the name El Monje Loco.
