Maria Butaciu (Salva , Romania, February 19, 1940 - June 11, 2018) was a Romanian folk singer from Transylvania. She attended the Music High School in Cluj , where she started her musical career with the Cluj Philharmonic Orchestra. On April 1, 1961, by contest, she became a member of the Ciocarlia Ensemble of the Interior Ministry in Bucharest. She was an interpreter of songs especially in the Bistrita-Nasaud area.
