Sköld replaced Twiggy Ramirez. Twiggy left due to creative differences. This is the final album to have keyboardist Madonna Wayne Gacy and guitar player John 5. They left Marilyn Manson in an angry fashion. This album was produced by Marilyn Manson himself and Sköld. Ben Grosse co-produced this album. This album is more electronic & beat-driven than metal.
