Biography

Mattias Hellberg (born 13 June 1973) is a Swedish musician. He released music simply as Mattias Hellberg, but has also worked with a variety of Swedish bands and artists in different genres, both as a permanent member and as guest or session member.

Hellbergs career started with the band Nymphet Noodlers (Wayne Kramer of the MC5 once said that the Nymphet Noddlers was one of his favorite bands). Hellberg and his Nymphet Noodlers bandmate Martin Hederos are also the duo Hederos & Hellberg.

Hellberg was briefly a member of the live set-up of The Hellacopters, after the departure of Dregen and before Robert Dahlqvist joined as a full-time guitarist. Hellberg later worked with Hellacopters front man Nick Royale and Scott Morgan's soul band The Solution.

When the legendary Swedish prog band Nationalteatern reunited in the 1990s Hellberg was invited on board as their new vocalist. He also performed live with the band's former vocalist Totta Näslund as a backup due to Näslund's health problems.

In the new millennium Hellberg worked with the band Kanzeon and, in 2004, with singer/songwriter Stefan Sundström on his album Fula Gubben Hitler and also went on tour to support the album.

The moniker Mattias Hellberg & The White Moose was used on one Hellberg album thusfar: 2008's Out of the Frying Pan, Into the Woods.
