Maximilian Osseyevich Steinberg (Russian Максимилиан Осеевич Штейнберг; born O.s June 22 / July 4, 1883 in Vilnius – December 6, 1946 in Leningrad) was a Russian composer of classical music born in what is now Lithuania. Steinberg, born into a Jewish family, spent his youth in Vilnius and only in 1901 left for Saint Petersburg, to study the natural sciences there.
