“To The End” is based on William Faulkner’s short story, “A Rose For Emily.” The title also references a 1994 song by Blur, of the same name. In terms of the Three Cheers storyline, it appears that the protagonist crashes a wedding celebration to rack up more murders towards his goal of killing a thousand evil souls.
