She inherited her mother’s passion for opera, lieder, english and welsh folksongs, and the affinity for jazz and blues from her father. She left her homestate when she was four, settled in Chicago, and later New Hampshire. Her musical studies include classical voice training, piano and guitar, as well as work with jazz pianist Jeff Gardner.
