Pēteris Plakidis, (March 4, 1947 – August 8, 2017) was a Latvian composer and pianist. Plakidis was born March 4, 2017 in Riga, Latvia. He was educated at the Emīls Dārziņš College of Music before studying as an undergraduate in the Composition Department at the Jāzeps Vītols State Conservatory (now the Latvian Academy of Music).
