Pure Obsessions & Red Nights was formed by Philippe Deschemin with the idea to create “something like a beautiful, tasty fruit with a razor blade inside”. Influenced by David Bowie, Nine Inch Nails, The Cure, Type O Negative, Depeche Mode… since its creation, the band pushes the limits by mixing Alt-Rock, New-Wave & Industrial to create their own and unique Alternative sound, music for the misfits.
After 2 albums, a covers'n remixes compilation and the publication of Deschemin’s 1st Syfy novel, Contoyen, they released the unanimously acclaimed Mr Strangler Trilogy, the rise and fall of a serial killer: ► The Ogre Inside - Act I, (2017) / The Darkest of Human Desires, Act II, (2019) / No Monsters in God's Eyes, Act III, (2020).
Mr Strangler died and became a messiah for an enigmatic community: The Stranglings. Led by The Guide, they travel from town to town, joined by people fleeing the modern world. The band teamed up with RRHOFamer & Grammy Award winner Chris Vrenna, who mixed the new opus: We Are the Stranglings (2021).
Pure Obsessions & Red Nights shared stages with legendary acts (Hanoi Rocks, Christian Death …) & bands like CKY, Murderdolls, Front Line Assembly, OOMPH!… always bringing intense shows, and was remixed by Combichrist, Stabbing Westward, Jimmy Urine, The Anix, Mr. Kitty …
Deschemin & Erwan Frugier formed An Erotic End of Times in 2017, BLI55 CODE in 2020.
