Born Raymond Smith III on July 5, 1989, in El Dorado, Arkansas to the parents of Raymond Smith Jr. and Karen Smith. Ray Rashad was raised in Camden, Arkansas in an area that was also known as Fairview. His love for music was discovered at the age of five, being in a household with parents that played very influential music.
