Ray Walston (December 2, 1914 – January 1, 2001) was an American stage, television and feature film actor. Although he is probably best known for his roles in the situation comedy My Favorite Martian and in the drama series Picket Fences, he appeared in a several musicals. His most noted role was as Mr. Applegate, the devil, in Damn Yankees which he played both on Broadway (for which he won Tony Award) and in the 1958 movie version. He also had roles in movie versions of South Pacific and Paint Your Wagon.
