An official release of the demo tape originally given to Ivo Watts-Russell of 4AD Records, the 90 minute record compiles recordings done by the band between 1989 and 1992, despite its title placing the recordings between 1991 and 1992. Upon listening to this tape, Watts-Russell signed the band, and a select handful of cuts were released, in near-unedited form, as the band's debut LP, 1992's Down Colorful Hill.
