Simon Smart-Foster was born in Shoreham-by-sea in sussex England, on december first 1976. He was fostered and later adopted by his parents, becoming the eldest of seven children in a working class Anglo-Irish family. Simon grew up in the hamlet village of Small Dole at the base of the south downs, several miles outside the vibrant city of Brighton. His early influences included artists like Billy Idol, Eddie Cochran, and Elvis Costello, but later became heavily influenced in singer songwriters like Niel Young, Nick Drake, Leonard Cohen and Jeff Buckley.
