SPARK!!SOUND!!SHOW!!, often abbreviated as Susashi (スサシ), is a Japanese rock band formed in Osaka in 2009. The band went through lineup changes before establishing its current members, which include Yuuki Tanaka (タナカユーキ) as the vocalist and guitarist, Chiyo (チヨ) on bass and backing vocals, Takuma (タクマ) on synthesizer and guitar, and Ichiro (イチロー) on drums and backing vocals. Ichiro came on board in 2016, while Takuma joined the band in 2017.
Vocalist Yuuki (then guitarist) and guitarist Shohei formed a band in the high school light music club. They were later joined by bassist Chiyo and vocalist Toshiki, but lacked a drummer. Vocalist Toshiki unexpectedly stopped attending rehearsals and withdrew from the group, leaving the band without a frontman. Yuuki took the role as vocalist, while they continued to rehearse in studios around the Osaka and Takatsuki areas. They were frequently crossing the Yodogawa River to accommodate their current drummer's location in nearby Hirakata.
In the years following Toshiki’s departure, the group encountered difficulties in finding a stable drummer. They cycled through support members, struggling to solidify a lasting lineup. However, this period of instability ultimately led to the addition of drummer Ichiro in 2016 and synthesizer player and guitarist Takuma in 2017, who would both become permanent members.
SPARK!!SOUND!!SHOW!! debuted in 2015 with the mini-album Chemical X and continued to gain traction with DX JAPAN in 2016. These early releases showcased a sound that was both intense and experimental. The band’s first full-length album, Hibana Ongaku Kaien, released in 2018, marked a major milestone, followed by NU BLACK in 2019 and This is SPARK!!SOUND!!SHOW!! in 2020. Their EP Susasi e.p., released later in 2020.
