If you are fan of 50’s blues, west coast jump blues, rock’n’roll & country music (American Roots Music), you have a chance to enjoy all this far away from the place where it was born! Just come to a concert of St. JOHNNY & The Sinners. The home of this band is right in the heart of Europe, in Prague, Czech republic, where the leader of the band „St. JOHNNY“ (Jan Stehlík) found himself among musicians with a love for this kind of music. The band will be happy to take you on a trip back to the 50’s at some of their club dates, festivals or private parties.
To date, the band has released 3 CDs. The first CD (2008 „These Times Are Gone“) is their tribute to the masters of country-blues guitar (e.g. Big Bill Broonzy, Mississippi John Hurt, Elizabeth Cotten and others).
The second CD (2009 „Picture Of My Life“) consists of their own compositions exclusively, including mix of blues, country & R’n’R.
The third CD (2010 „When The Sun Went Down“) is all about blues, and was recorded live (in studio) to capture the energy of a live gig and most of it are cover versions of well known songs from their favourite authors (Louis Jordan, Otis Rush, Arthur Crudup, Robert Johnson and others).
The band set out on the road back in 2006 and after several personal changes settled down with current line up. Their tours lead them not only across the Czech republic, but abroad as well (e.g. Poland, Hungary, Serbia).
