Each of the four tracks were made in a similar way - collaborators took turns in "superimposing" any sounds they like on those of the previous one. No one really knew at the beginning what was to be the result, that appeared to be mostly sort of electronic "noise clouds" with occasional piano, violin and even somewhat-of-choir bits. Actually, the same can be said about the cover!
