This however wasn't long lasted, as the sample used (Toshifumi Hinata – Reflections) was unlicensed and in December 2022 Sony filed a lawsuit against TREFUEGO. In a judgment issued in a Texas court on Wednesday (March 27th) 2024, Trefuego (Dantreal Daevon Clark-Rainbolt) was ordered to pay Sony Music $802,997.23 in damages, including $14,078.82 currently held by DistroKid.
