The Knott were born in Swindon when an advert asking for a bass player to fill the sound that, at that time, was being created by Lee Knott (vocals), Andy Dickinson (guitars) and Sam Bailey (drums) was answered by Matt Keeble. Following the band's second outing Sam decided that things weren't going in the right direction for him and quit.
