The Nomos was an American jazz / R&B group that did just one set of recordings: 6 and 7 February 1964 in Los Angeles, CA, United States. The combo was the then current line-up of the Brother Jack McDuff Quartet, with the addition of Red Tyler on baritone sax and Tommy Shelvin on electric bass. The only known single of The Nomos came out on Prestige in 1964: 'Redwood City' b/w 'Step Out and Git It' (the latter frequently misspelled as 'Step Out and Get It').
