Unleaded was formed in 1998 in Nicosia Cyprus by Andrew Laghos (guitar, backing vocals) and the trio was completed by Nikos (bass, lead vocals) and Iacovos Iacovides (drums). The same year they entered a Battle of the Bands contest in Amarte club in Nicosia where they shared 1st place with another young band. Later on that year, they recorded an album 'UnLeadeD' which was independently distributed around the island, and received airplay on major Cypriot radio stations including KissFm, Radio1, BFBS and Radio Elios.
