Thomas Mapfumo & the Blacks Unlimited is a Zimbabwean band led by singer and songwriter Thomas Mapfumo. Beginning in the late 1970s, Mapfumo developed his mbira pop sound with guitarists Jonah Sithole and Leonard ‘Picket’ Chiyangwa, bassist Charles Makokova, and others.
