Tierce is the electro-acoustic improvising trio of Jez riley French (field recordings, zither, salt, paper, camera, contact microphones, electronics), Daniel Jones (turntable, electronics) and Ivan Palacký (amplified Dopleta 180 knitting machine). After a debut 3" on Jez's Engraved Glass label entitled 'Tierce' (as Daniel Jones / Ivan Palacký / Jez Riley French), the title was promoted to group name for their first full-length album 'Caisson' (Another Timbre, 2011).
