Quinceañera is a Mexican telenovela, produced by and broadcast on Televisa in 1987. It featured the first starring role for both Adela Noriega and Thalía, a singer then member of the pop band Timbiriche. It was the second story written for television by René Muñoz, a Cuban-born actor. This was also the first telenovela to talk about drugs, rape and gangs. Plot Maricruz (Adela Noriega) and Beatriz (Thalía) are classmates and best friends, although Maricruz is poor and Beatriz is of a wealthy family.
