Biography
Tyler Smith, known also by his alias, Telle is an American musician. He has played in several bands, such as Greeley Estates, In Fear and Faith, and currently, The Word Alive. He is known for his tenor singing voice, wide vocal range and ability to comprehensively alternate between melodic and screamed vocals.
Smith joined In Fear and Faith as one of their two lead vocalists in May 2007. He was a member of the band until January 2008, where he proceeded to join Phoenix, Arizona natives Greeley Estates as bassist during that same month.
Smith's joining of Greeley Estates lasted from January 2008 to November 2008, the day before the band was about to go on tour with Alesana. The band said "not to fret" and that the position would be filled. Smith was not featured on any albums during his brief association with this band as well. Upon his departure, he then joined The Word Alive, which was originally a side-project by Escape the Fate's Craig Mabbitt. Smith replaced Mabbitt, due to his unavailability to tour with the band. The announcement was made that Smith officially joined on December 3, 2008. He is featured on the band's debut EP, Empire. A year in advance, Smith widely confirmed the writing of The Word Alive's full-length album. On January 20, 2010, he stated it would be titled Deceiver, which later lead to its release on August 31, 2010.
As The Word Alive were included on Underoath's November tour, vocalist, Spencer Chamberlain became infected with food poisoning during its final week. Due to this, Smith substituted for Chamberlain's place in Underoath for the tour date in Mission, Texas.
