After success as Rosalinde in Die Fledermaus, sang in opera in Hamburg, Berlin, and, from 1921, Vienna. Frequently sang with Tauber in Lehár operettas. Salzburg Fest. 1929; Glyndebourne 1938. Went to Hollywood 1939, becoming teacher. Returned to Austria 1948 to teach at Salzburg Mozarteum.
