Vernon Walker was the founder and dominate songwriter, along with Kenny Miller, of late 80's punk band, The Banzai Fuzz Kings. The Banzai Fuzz Kings went on to release a total of 5 albums before internal conflict tore the band apart. In 1990 Vernon began writing the songs that would later be on his debut solo album. That solo, The Black And White Tape was released in 1991 by Stray Dog Records.
